East of the stick is in-to-out. River-side is out-to-in. Numbers, not nicknames.

Rhea’s book uses the Cedar as west-ish and 1st Street as a north line, which is a local lie we all agreed on in 2008. A +3° river bearing means the mid-point of the string sits three degrees toward the water from the target stick.

We do not average a driver’s azimuth with a wedge’s. Matching is a choir idea. A path is a solo. If only the scoring irons have gone river-side after a wet May, we do not drag the long clubs into the same pin as a courtesy.
